One of the things that makes A2 Hosting and World Host Group so successful are the humans that lead our organization. I recently had the opportunity to talk with our Chief Commercial Officer Tim Koerner.
Tim plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth strategy. Tim’s focus? Organic growth that enhances customer experience and maximizes value for both users and the company.
“What I do at World Host Group and A2 is, in the end, being responsible for everything that has to do with organic growth. From how customers experience our products, how they use them, until how we sell additional products to them, how we create value for our customers, but of course, also for World Host Group and A2.”
Tim is focused on delivering innovation, improving user experiences, and empowering businesses of all sizes.
He added, “We’re giving customers the opportunity to stay with us longer by offering great deals, highlighting platform benefits, and ensuring seamless experiences. This is what drives us forward.”
##Building Products That Make Our Customer’s Lives Easier
A2 Hosting and World Host Group strive to innovate digital solutions, constantly seeking ways to enhance user experience and customer satisfaction. According to Tim, the goal is to make our tools easier for customers to use.
“We want to have a good product, a good solution. But being out there, learning directly from customers, getting live data—it’s much more meaningful than waiting another six or 12 months to squeeze out another 5% of quality.”
World Host Group and A2 are investing heavily in enhancing customer experience through a seamless, integrated approach to communication, onboarding, and product usage.
“We’re reinvesting into our user panel, controlling the user experience from onboarding to product usage to customer retention. Managing the entire lifecycle of a customer is something we are very intrigued by.”
While some of our clients are agencies or businesses that have robust technical requirements, many are just starting out with websites and domain names.
“We need to make their life as easy as possible. Many of them have no idea what kind of product they need. They might have heard of WordPress or domains, but they don’t know how to build a website. It’s much more difficult than people think, so we invest in making it as easy as possible.”
##The Power of Teamwork and Shared Values
Tim emphasizes the importance of culture and vision over rigid hierarchies. A strong organizational structure isn’t just about reporting lines, it’s about shared values and seamless collaboration.
“It’s not only the organization or the structures in the end, it’s also how the company values journey and user experience for customers and how we want our teams working together. Hierarchy and who reports to whom is not as important as the vision, the strategy, and the culture.”
Hiring the right people and giving them the tools to succeed is also an important part of Tim’s strategy.
Tim said, “We all love to work together very closely. It’s hard work—people put in long hours—but they do it because they love what we do. They really like to work together and buy into the vision. That is something I’m very happy about.”
But having the right team can significantly impact customer experience and satisfaction as well.
“When you hire great people, you put them together under a great strategy and vision, they will do great things for our customers in the end.”
##Expanding Product Offerings
The company is expanding its portfolio beyond traditional hosting services, incorporating solutions like security, backups, marketing tools, and AI-powered enhancements.
“Right now, we’re very much focused on domains, web hosting, WordPress hosting, and virtual servers. But we are at the beginning of our product portfolio expansion. We’re rolling out adjacent services, backup services, security solutions, and marketing tools embedded within WordPress and other website-building services.”
Artificial intelligence is also part of the company’s strategy. AI is undeniably a buzzword these days, but Tim’s team is trying to find ways to use it to make customers’ lives easier.
“We’re looking into where it makes sense to use AI functionalities in our products—not just for the sake of putting AI on a website as a marketing claim, but to genuinely improve the customer experience.”
