This error occurs with Active Directory if the machine that is connected is dropped from Active Directory. This can happen for a number of reasons. - You will need to local into the machine that connects to Active Directory locally. So you must have a local administrator account, otherwise you will not be able to fix the issue.
- Once logged in you will need to proceed to the computer management MMC and chanage the computers name and remove the computer from the Active Directory domain. You can change it to a workgroup. After doing this you will need to restart your computer.
- When the machine comes back up, log back in and proceed to your computer management section again. This time you will want to rejoin back to the Active Directory domain. Be sure that you have access to the user that can re-add you back to the domain, otherwise you will not be able to complete this. You will need to restart the computer again.
- Now that the machine has restarted, you will be able to log back into the Active Directory domain using Remote Desktop.
