“Green” has many definitions in the hosting industry today. To us, being green means we are conscious of the environmental impact of our energy consumption and taking active steps to give back. We are generating zero carbon emissions at all of our data center and office facilities by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), which is equivalent to planting approximately 1,310 acres of trees, or removing 304 cars from the road.

In addition, we have integrated green initiatives into our corporate culture. Our goal is to have 100% participation in our Employee REC Purchase Program to help offset their personal energy consumption.

EPA Green Power Partnership
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certifies that Hosting.com’s green power purchases meet their national qualifying standards. Hosting.com is a Green Power Partner.

E.ON and Louisville Gas & Electric Green Energy Champion
We are purchasing 208 Green Energy blocks, at 1,000 kilowatt hours each, monthly for the next 12 months, offsetting approximately 1,500 tons of CO2 emissions per year for our headquarters and two data centers located in Louisville, Kentucky. Hosting.com is currently the largest purchaser of Green Energy in the state of Kentucky and the only Green Energy Champion. The Louisville Gas & Electric Green Energy is being generated from one of only 28 “super green” hydro plants in the United States.
